Our most popular jacket for Coast to Coast paddlers.

Some jackets meet the Coast to Coast rules — but leave paddlers wet, cold, and uncomfortable when it matters most. We’ve seen it too many times on Grade 2 Courses and Waimakariri training runs: splash tops that tick the box but don’t do the job. That’s why we recommend the Palm Vertigo Jacket. It’s lightweight and breathable, but features latex wrist gaskets and a soft neoprene neck to keep water out — even in a swim. The twin waist seals securely with your spray skirt, and the lighter fabric packs down easily into your race-day drybag. If you want one jacket that’s warm enough for the Gorge, comfortable for long sessions, and race-legal for the Coast to Coast, this is it. It’s our most popular jacket for good reason — it keeps paddlers dry without slowing them down.

  • Waterproof, lightweight XP 2-layer fabric packs down small
  • 3D cut for unrestricted freedom of movement
  • Latex wrist gaskets keep sleeves dry
  • Soft neoprene neck gasket keeps most of the water out, even if you swim
  • Twin waist keeps your wet spray skirt off your core
  • Velcro-adjustable outer cuffs protect wrist gaskets
  • Velcro-adjustable neoprene waistband helps to keep water out of your boat
  • Suitable for Canterbury Kayaking Grade 2 Courses and Guided Trips
  • Meets Coast to Coast compulsory gear requirements for a waterproof, long-sleeved, paddle-specific jacket
  • Weight: 450 g (S), 477 g (M), 518 g (L), 541 g (XL), 571 g (XXL)

So dry, you’ll wonder if you’ve been paddling?!

I bought this jacket for Grade 2 certification training… and I’m so glad I did! As a beginner in the sport, I can’t emphasise enough how important this jacket is… it keeps you so dry, even when you spend half your day under water 😁

Don’t hesitate. It’s worth it.
