Description:

If you're thinking about doing the Coast to Coast, but haven't done much paddling, Canterbury Kayaking's Introduction to Multisport Course is the perfect starting point.

Getting going with paddling can be tough - especially if you don't have the equipment, or know how to use it correctly. This course begins with a full introduction to kayaking gear, including how to set up a multisport boat and paddle properly.

If you're like most beginners, you'll probably be excited to start building your kayaking kit ASAP. It's all too common for novices to buy stuff they don't need. Our instructors will ensure you choose the right gear for you. We'll have our most popular products with us, so you can try them before making your choice.

Once geared up, you'll be taken through a series of drills so you can start developing good habits early. We'll provide you with some personalised tips to focus on, so you can prepare for your Grade 2 Certificate Course effectively.

Before we finish, we'll have a chat with you regarding your future paddling goals. You'll have a chance to ask questions, and your instructor can provide expert, personalised advice for you to consider.

So if you'd like the best possible start, or are simply itching to get paddling as soon as possible, our Introduction Course will help you begin your journey the right way.

I just completed the half day intro, and 4 day Grade 2 Course. Sams knowledge of kayaking and ability to break skills down into manageable chunks made it a great journey. From 0 experience to having the confidence to smile through a rapid and roll when required on day 4 I'd highly recommend Canterbury Kayaking for both teaching and gear advice/supply.  Sophie Morton (15 March 2021).

I had an awesome time doing the Introduction Course this morning with Sam. Feeling way better about the start of my river kayaking adventure and getting ready for Coast to Coast 2021. Cant wait to do the Grade 2 Course next month and spend 4 days out on the river! — Catherine Sheet (4 March 2020).
